Shabu Garden Riverside - AYCE Japanese Hot Pot

This place is not that great. The staff wasn't helpful and barely came by to check on us. We ordered the shabu and the first round of meat looked dried out. The "buffet" was empty. Most of the food put out was almost gone or looked old. The steamed rice looked burned and stuck to the pan. The staff were a bunch of teenagers that didn't stop by to check on us. We kept having to go to them to ask for more meat. I would not come back here.

Second time here to eat lunch on Sunday with my boys. Sushi, shabu-shabu is delicious, fresh and testy. Very clean restaurant and the restroom. Very delicious food, fast and kind service. We are going every single Sunday to eat at this restaurant! And a huge surprise: today the owner of the “Shabu Garden” restaurant came to greet us. I was surprised at how delicious the food was when we started came to eat here. It turns out, the owner is of Japanese descent. That's why they have sushi, sashimi, and shabu shabu just like in Japan! Come to this restaurant if you want the real taste of Japanese food!

Such an awesome place we had a great time. The all you can eat sushi and hot pot at $41.99 was so worth it. Sushi was bomb.com. Good music and cool guys working there.

This is an AYCE hot pot in Riverside and this place did not disappoint. It is located in the backyard of a Sushi restaurant. In the winter it may get a little chilly so make sure to bring your jacket. The food was very good with a variety of meat, seafood, vegetable etc. The waiter took orders of your meat request and you will help yourself with other food and sauces like a buffet. It was a relatively small place with 6 or 7 tables. Most of the time there was only one waiter but he was very efficient. During our visit the restaurant was pretty much full but we did not feel underserved. Oh by the way the background music was catchy too. We asked the waiter for the song list. Overall it was a very positive dining experience and my family will certainly come back.

WE FINALLY HAVE A HOTPOT IN RIVERSIDE!! Thank you Yelp recommendations. Highly recommended to visit just for the dining area. The garden is GORGEOUS, I don't think there's anywhere else to eat like this in Riverside. You can really tell the owner put a lot of work into it. The service is mostly self-serve. You go in, pick from a selection of broth. We chose the spicy miso and original. Then you walk into the restaurant and pick out assortments of veggies and seafood. There's also a hot bar. Everything was really fresh, although I feel like they were lacking some hotpot essentials like fishballs, shumai, and enoki mushrooms. I did like how the seafood options were included in the AYCE. There's a lot of different sauces to dip everything in so my mouth was never bored. The food quality did not miss. You can tell from looking at it everything is organic. It's definitely worth the price, especially compared to other hot pots. Will definitely be back!
